BroccoRaphanin™ is a proprietary and patented variety of broccoli (Brassica oleracea italica) and is particularly rich in glucoraphanin - better known as sulforaphane glucosinolate. Sulforaphane glucosinolate is the direct precursor to sulforaphane. The dietary isothiocynate sulforaphane targets numerous biological pathways that modulate Phase I enzymes and elevate Phase II enzymes that are present in all cells. Once inside the cells, sulforaphane sends a signal to individual cellular enzymes that turns on the natural cellular defenses housed in all cells. Cells are naturally equipped with their own internal defense system.
